This 780 mile long island is one of the cultural hotspots in the Caribbean. Its socialist background combined with the strong Afro-Cuban culture, make it a place like no other. Salsa and dancing are part of people’s daily lives so don’t be surprised if you find yourself doing the cha-cha in the street with a stranger. Havana is the capital city. You will be impressed with people’s kindness and generosity, and of course the signature antique cars. Take a walk on the Malecon then stop at the Bodeguita del medio for a mojito. Visit Che Guevara’s final resting place, Santa Clara. This picturesque city will charm you with its colorful buildings. If you just want to relax on the beach, Varadero is the tourist area located about an hour and half away from La Habana, where you will find plenty of resorts. Pinar del Rio is another place worth visiting. It will give you the ultimate countryside experience; breathtaking nature, horseback riding and authentic food. Make sure to go see the prehistoric wall while you are there. All of Cuba cannot be seen in one trip, so make friends because you will definitely come back!
